🕵 3-Step Shortcut to Spot Gaps in Your Competitors’ Content (+ My Bonus Trick)
Most content sounds the same. Here’s how to use AI to spot what competitors miss and turn it into content your audience actually needs.
Hi friends,
The other day, I was talking to a founder friend on a casual walk and he asked me something interesting.
“There’s so many content out there already, it seems impossible to stand out.”
And honestly? That’s a valid concern.
But it’s also something we need to reframe.
Because the best way to stand out isn’t to try to say something no one’s ever said before.
It’s to provide unique value your competitors aren’t giving.
But here’s the problem: finding those gaps can be a time-consuming process.
You’d normally have to:
Visit competitor websites and social channels
Consume their content in detail
Spot what’s missing and figure out how to do it better
It works, but it takes hours.
Here’s how I’ve been speeding it up lately with AI 👇
AI Shortcut to Spot Gaps in Competitors’ Content
Step 1: Collect up to five competitor articles on the topic you’re interested in.
Step 2: Paste them into ChatGPT with this prompt:
“Summarize the main points in these articles. What questions are left unanswered? What could I possibly add to make my article on this topic more useful?”
Step 3: Use the output to shape your edge:
Add more actionable tips backed by your experience
Fix unclear structure or missing explanations
Include real-world examples or case studies to illustrate your points
Aand now the bonus trick I’ve been loving since ChatGPT released its Agent mode.
Use ChatGPT Agent + Reddit Combo
To take your analysis a step further, do this:
Activate Agent Mode in ChatGPT
Give it this prompt:
“Go through relevant Reddit threads where people discuss [your topic]. What are the main pain points and questions people are asking? What are they struggling with? What have they tried (and did it work)? What solutions or advice are they still looking for? Organize the output into bullet points so it’s easy to scan.”
Once the agent is done, bring its summary and your competitor analysis into the same chat and ask:
“Based on both, what exact questions or angles should I cover to make my content stand out and add real value?”
And that’s it.
Instead of spending hours scrolling your competitors’ blogs, you can let AI do the heavy lifting. Now, spend energy on what really matters: adding your own insights, stories, and expertise.
Because that’s the part no AI tool can replicate.
That’s the part that makes you stand out from competitors.
And lead people to buy from you.
Remember, the goal isn’t to publish more content.
It’s to publish content that’s more useful, more human, and more worth coming back to.
PS: Bonus tool to save time on repurposing your content → aiCarousels
If you’re creating long-form content and want to turn them into carousels, quote cards, or formatted text in minutes, this tool is a lifesaver. You just paste in the link to your long-form content (blog or YouTube video) or describe your content and it will automatically turn your prompt into a post of your choice.
It’s built specifically for LinkedIn creators and honestly, if I could only pick one tool for LinkedIn, this would be it.
