👾 I Tested Google’s New AI Video Tool and It’s WILD
Fun to play with, slightly terrifying to think about. Here’s what happened when I tried Google Veo 3.
Hi friends 👋
This week, I’ve been in testing mode for the article about AI Content Generators.
So, I had the pleasure to play around with cool tools like Google Veo 3, their brand-new AI video generator.
And I have thoughts.
Veo 3 is different from the usual AI video tools. It doesn’t just generate moving images. It adds dialogue. Sound effects. Music. It syncs lip movement to speech. The output feels… uncannily real.
Which brings me to the wild realization:
The results completely depend on how detailed your prompt is.
Here’s what happened when I tested it:
(I’ll share the screenshots from my test in this email. However, you’ll be able to play the videos in my article when it gets published.)
🧪 First test: I gave Veo 3 a very specific prompt for a scene with a career coach — exact dialogue, camera angle, background vibe, even the sound design.
(Thanks ChatGPT for helping me generate the prompt.)
The result? Surprisingly accurate, realistic-looking video. It looked and felt like the scene I had in mind.

🧪 Second test: I tried a vague prompt — something like “create a mini podcast scene.” No real direction.
The video came back dry, awkward, and lacked any podcast vibe. No podcast setting, no flow, and no sound at all. It looked like this:

Then I added some details — mentioned that it should be a podcast scene with a medium shot and background music, but I didn’t specify what the characters should say.
The result has improved. But it still doesn’t look like a podcast scene to me:

Turns out, since I haven’t specified what dialogue to add or what kind of background sound to play, it didn’t even add any sound.
My last prompt for generating this podcast scene was VERY detailed.
I went all in with the final test — I gave Veo 3 very clear direction:
🎥 Camera angle
🗣 Dialogue
🛋 Setting and mood
🎵 Background music

And guess what?!
It nailed it.

Takeaway?
If you want the best results from AI video tools like Veo 3, you need to treat them like collaborators. Don’t assume they know what you want. Spell it out — and I mean, spell out every single detail.
So what does this mean for content creators like us?
Honestly, I’m torn.
On one hand — this tech is incredible. I could imagine using it to quickly produce clips for fun, sci-fi scenes, or even creative concept videos.
On the other hand — it’s getting really hard to tell what’s real and what’s AI-generated. That part is… a little scary.
What do you think? Would you use tools like this in your work or personal life? Or do you think it’s going to mess up the internet even more?
Hit reply and let me know — I’d love to hear your take.
See you next Friday,
Kate 🌟
